In the Truman Show, everyone but Truman was an actor, they only actually carried out their roles whilst Truman was around.  So for example in the town square everyone is just stood around waiting until the producers announce Truman is about to come round the corner .. then they all burst into action ..

But because they only need to act until Truman has passed through, they only have a short script.. so when he stops still, he notices that the same people are going past again and again cos they only have a few minute script then have to start again at the beginning.

Why am I telling you this?

I had to go meet a policeman outside a community house today (a whole big National Consumer Week thing) .. I couldn’t find the place .. so I parked up outside Spar waiting for the police van to arrive cos I could follow that …

Pulling into the carpark I had to stop to avoid the bin wagon that was turning around, a guy on a red bike had to stop to avoid hitting me, and I pulled into the space just vacated by an old man in a blue Vauxhall Astra…

I sat in the car park for five minutes (long enough to not see a police van, and to nip into Spar for chocolate).  Decided to drive around again looking for the place… drove round the block, and ended up about five minutes later back at the Spar carpark …

… with a bin wagon turning around, a guy on a red bike, and an old man in a blue Astra pulling out of the parking space I’d been in…

Proof if needed that I’m the star of my own tv show (Hugh Grant was right).  Although that does mean that anyone reading this is an actor ..

.. I did confront Paul at work about this, he denied being an actor.. but then that’s Exactly what an actor would say..
