I got some post this morning!

A speeding ticket, meh.

There was a brief moment of excitement when I noticed they’d sent it on the 16th .. 16 days after the offence (New Years Eve), which means they can’t enforce it (has to be within 14 days).

But after some downloading, some legislation research, some investigation .. it turns out they originally sent the summons on the 13th to the lease company, who told them “we weren’t driving, the car is leased to Warrington”. 

So they wrote to my work on the 16th (the letter I saw), who said “we weren’t driving, the car is leased to [me]”. 

So they’re writing to me.

I’m tempted to say “I wasn’t driving, I’d lent the car to Claire” then get Claire to say “I wasn’t driving, I needed a rest so my dad drove for a bit” then her dad to say “I wasn’t driving, I felt ill so my mate took over, he’s out of the country atm, he’ll be back in March” .. and so on, and see just how far they’ll pursue it.

I was looking forward to the fight (I enjoyed the scoobydoo legal battle), but on the other hand .. £60 and 3 points fixed penalty is a lot less than I could get if I dispute it and end up in court.
