What follows are 3 mini donkey stories … combined into one tale of donkey obsession.

Story 1
From time to time I’ve been tempted to get a tattoo, usually when I’m spending time in Blackpool.  I’ve always thought if I ever do get one, it’d say “I love donkeys”.

Not because I particularly love donkeys, I just like the idea of having something stupid like that as a tattoo.  I was gutted to see ilovedonkeys.com was taken .. co.uk doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Story 2
One of the guys at work got back from Mexico this week.  Before he left he knew he was gonna go to the village of Tijuana for the day.  In Tijuana they paint their donkeys white with black stripes, and try to pass them off to tourists as zebras.. What a great scam 🙂

Whilst he was away, these donkeys have became a running gag in the office.  I am dying to go see a donkey painted to look like a zebra!

Story 3
I’m redesigning the website for Warringtons Approved Motor Trader scheme, West Yorkshire have just re-done theirs which now prominently features the picture of a shark, and the text “don’t get bitten”.

I thought this was pretty funny … a shark is just so out of place on a council website about motor traders ..  But the site looks better than ours, so I got my boss to agree to pay for some decent artwork to use on ours … I promised him there would be no shark ..

As a joke, one of my colleagues suggested we have a Tijuana donkey on the site, with the text “don’t get taken for a ride”. 

We all laughed (the current office donkey obsession made it seem funnier than it was)… but having a donkey on the site would be just stupid..

Then somebody said “that’s not a bad idea”, somebody else agreed, then somebody else …
