Days four & five: birthday

We got back from Prague about two in the afternoon, one of Claires parents friends picked us up at the airport, and upset Claire a little by forgetting it was her birthday.

Claire had been wanting to go out clubbing in Manchester on her birthday, and had invited Wrong’un and some mates to come out, but for various reasons they couldn’t make it, so it got cancelled.

But then when I was at Greenday, Claire’s sister had phoned me saying they wanted to put on a surprise party for Claire, could I think of anyone to invite?  so I spoke to Wrong’un, and, when we were drunk in Prague, I managed to get Claires phone and send her sis the numbers for everyone else she’d tried to invite clubbing.

Claire’s family took her for a birthday meal in a nearby pub, and despite the stoopid waitress saying “ahh yeah you’re here for the party?  Everyone else is in that room”, Claire still didn’t quite catch on until everyone (including parents friend who’d pretended to forget) had jumped out and surprised her.  She seemed pretty happy 🙂

Not much sleep that night again, always forget how hard it is to sleep in Claires teeny tiny single bed, especially when it’s that hot.  Ended up trying to sleep in a 4 foot by 2 foot space on her bedroom floor..

Next day was the quietest of the week, went shopping for Claires present, went to cinema to see Batman Begins (his fighting style in ninjutsu! which is what I do), which means that not only can I claim to be as badass as Batman, but more so! because I don’t need to rely on body armour and gadgets!

Again so hot that night, and so uncomfy (we slept on living room floor) that didn’t sleep much.  Next morning Claire ran me to the airport for my third plane of the week, this time to Heathrow..
