So, I live in Salford now

And I’ve found my new local (the landlord did threaten to shoot me last week, but it was just a misunderstanding concerning his daughter..)

I’ve never been a big beer drinker, but when I was new to the pub I knew that first impressions count, and I’d be starting off on the wrong foot if I went in and started drinking smirnoff ice etc

So I decided I ought to establish something a bit less girly as my drink.  I started drinking lots of Stella (and got very drunk in the process)

Now when I walk in, they say “Hi mcphee, Stella?”, so I feel I’m firmly established as a MAN, and can start moving back to girly drinks after the first pint or two.

I think I need to keep a careful eye on the mix, if I go too girly, then I’ll lose all the good work I’ve already put in.  I did get a few funny looks when I drank half my pint of stella then topped it up with Smirnoff ice.  I think it’s an ongoing project!

sidenote: “Smirnoff” typed into a t9 dictionary comes out as “poisoned”, which seems apt 🙂
