A few years ago (4) I was going out with a girl from Blackpool, so most weekends I was up there getting very drunk.
I’m never the most talkative person, but we’d go clubbing all the time with her mates, and as I was drinking anyway, I’d drinker quicker and earlier in the night than usual, so I was drunk enough to talk to everyone. Kinda binge drinking I guess, never really drink, but when I go out, I drink to get drunk.
And every night I’d feel ill, throw up, feel instantly better, and carry on drinking.
It kinda became part of the routine. Throwing up is never an end to the night, just a few minute pause to eat lots of minty fresh chewing gum.
And then I stopped seeing her, and stopped hanging out with the same people, and things changed, and I didn’t drink so much on nights out.
…
But recently… throwing up has become a routine part of a night out again, and I can’t quite see why… I don’t drink a lot, rarely ever unless I’m going out, and even then not so much…
I was out with Lara on Saturday night, we went for a meal (2 pints of lager and a lasagne), then onto a pub to play pool (another pint of lager), and then I started my 4th pint and realised… I can’t drink any more, I’m struggling now not to puke, another sip and there’s no chance of me stopping it.
I’m actually disturbingly good when it comes to throwing up, I can do it on command .. which is pretty gross, but handy in that I’m rarely ever going to puke unexpectedly, I can calmly make my way to the toilets, wait around for a free cubicle, and then projectile vomit everywhere.
Which is what I did on Saturday, felt better, and carried on drinking.
… gross… but… it’s happening now Every time I go out drinking.. and I don’t even have to drink much, I feel fine, take a sip of drink which knocks me over some randomly set ‘fill level’, and I’ve reached the point of no return… weird (and gross).
I kinda lost the point of this post about halfway through, other than… I’ve started throwing up again, bah!

That’s very candid. I always thought everyone was able to make themselves vomit quite easily when feeling a bit nauseous (without sticking fingers anywhere, just by doing something with your throat so as to make it happen). In fact I’m able to do it when I fell perfectly fine, but never do of course (as it’s a waste of food and/or drink).
When I feel the need to do so, I usually find it’s nothing more than trapped air that comes up at first and that is enough for the nauseousness(?) to pass, but if that doesn’t work I can always go the whole way.
If you are feeling the need to throw up after a lot less food and drink than you would expect, it might be a good idea to visit your doctor to ensure there isn’t any underlying physical condition causing it.
