How I Outsmarted the Steam Deck Marketing Team

A little while ago, I wrote about wanting to buy a Valve Steam Deck and feeling annoyed by the usual manipulative pricing and marketing tactics pushing me toward the top-tier 1TB OLED model.

I didn’t want to be manipulated, but I also felt it was probably inevitable.

Well, here’s a surprising update: I didn’t buy the top model! I resisted!

…Well, sort of.

Okay, fine – I didn’t buy that top model. Instead, they announced a new limited-edition version for just $50 more. It’s white! Naturally, I bought that one instead.

But hey, I avoided falling for the marketing manipulation of buying the black top-end Steam Deck. So, I’m counting this as a win!
